Fundación General CSIC, as a member of Gaia-X España, took part in the first association’s board of directors’ meeting, at which Juan Alfonso Ruiz Molina, Minister of Finance and Public Administration of the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha, was elected president. Three vice-presidents were also appointed at the meeting: Nuria Ávalos (from INDESIA), Antonio Cimorra (from AMETIC) and Dolores Ordóñez (from ‘Anysolution’); as well as the secretary of the association, Francisco Javier Antón (from Cluster Big Data Madrid), and the treasurer, José Miguel Alonso (from Red Cross).
Gaia-X is an European initiative, whose objective is the creation of an open and secure data infrastructure, which guarantees compliance with the highest standards of digital sovereignty. Gaia-X España was created in March 2022 and has the participation of 200 entities united by the purpose of promoting innovation and constituting a discussion forum for the elaboration of proposals by the actors of the data sharing ecosystem, at national level.
